Circular, "Gym Hooks" from Hay (Denmark) offer a nice alternative to traditional hooks. Scarves, ties, belts could be threaded through the circles while the outer loop would be good for hats, coats, bags.

The Cubby coat hook - the center space is good for sunglasses, phone, wallet, keys, jewelry, scarves, gloves, etc. The outer surface is gentler on clothes than a traditional hook.

Storing shoes like this usually means getting at least one extra pair on each shelf - try it, let me know if it works for you. I also like it because it shows me the heel of the shoe. I've got "standing around shoes" and "walkin'-a-mile" shoes. You too?

Tip: borrow kitchen ideas for a gourmet closet. Some of the ingredients making this work: an island holding jewelry + accessories, a scrumptious crystal chandelier, a mirror as countertop + backsplash, an ice bucket holds fresh greenery. Mouthwatering!
Interesting storage idea for purses, as long as you can access them easily. Store your stepladder in the closet or buy a hook on pole like used at department stores. Or wear really, really high heels ;-)
