furikake kettle corn from a-frame in los angeles, our favorite restaurant for january. created by roy choi, the genius chef behind the ever-so-wonderful kogi truck, a-frame provides gourmet food for reasonable prices. family style gives this place extra character! 12565 washington blvd.

dive bar of january: mom's bar (12238 santa monica boulevard) opened in december 2010 to giant crowds of loyalists from owner ben's sister-bar, the backstage (in culver city). with well drinks starting at $4, a spacious layout, and some of the friendliest bartenders around, mom's may be on the dive-ier side, but nobody said that's a bad thing!
