Elaine Lindelef has been creating horse-inspired art since she was a young girl. Even school art projects that were not supposed to include horses usually have a horse in them somewhere. As a child she played with model horses, and as a teenager learned to use them as a beginning source for art - melting and cutting and twisting, resculpting, and painting them into completely new horses. Eventually she learned to sculpt completely from scratch, using wire armatures and either self-hardening epoxy or wax-based clay.

Adrian Meraz Through May 15, 2004 Meraz constructs intricate, playful worlds from such unassuming materials as Popsicle sticks, plywood, and newspapers. He has created a futuristic cityscape from paper bags, transfigured a book into the infinity of a Möbius strip, and fashioned an unplayable musical instrument, encasing it in a warren of secret compartments. For this show, Meraz fills the museum’s Project Space with a site-specific installation infused with a sense of humor and wonder.

Max wanted to use cardboard for his experiment in expressionism, since Munch used cardboard for The Scream. He also pointed out that we should use pastels if we really want to explore Munch's process. So we assembled our supplies- pieces of cardboard, paintbrushes, pastels, cup of water, watercolors- and then list talked about the hardest feelings to express. Max said "a person who hears nature's happy cry", while Micah said "being sad". Milla just sat around looking wise. I said "tormenting confusion".
Big Art is art that makes you be involved in the process. [Because I believe the early years its all about the process, and not the product.]

Portrait 1 by John Rombola: A study of lines. The artwork of John Rombola lends itself well to the introductory study of lines in drawing and painting.
