Salar de Uyuni is a magical place: When covered by water, the world’s largest salt flat becomes a mirror, and anyone walking across it appears to be walking on clouds. The salt crust, which covers 4,086 square miles in southwestern Bolivia at 11,995 feet above sea level, is nearly flat, which makes it ideal for calibrating the altimeters of satellites.

Fetching pins…
Krista Chenoweth That would be Antelope Canyon in Arizona, not Petra, I believe :)
Christine Gilbert Ha! Thanks, I didn't change the description from the original pinner, good call! Fixed.
John Williams Why doesn't this Pin link to the original page the photo was published on? Sad that members Pin / RePin eye candy and can't be bothered to find out more about the photo or the photographer
Christine Gilbert Actually I think it's a glitch with Pinterest. This pin says it's from Navajonationparks.org but when I click on it, it goes to the pinterest uploaded image, not to the original site. I don't know if links are getting lost when something is repinned a lot, but there's seems to be something strange about it. I repinned it without going to the original site. I don't think I need to go there just to mindlessly look and turn away. As a blogger I know that a simple "visit" that is one page (aka a bounce) doesn't earn any money for the photographer and really is an empty gesture. I don't research the images I look at on FB or flickr or anywhere else. I think it's okay to look and not do research on the original of every single photo you come across. However, Pinterest does need to fix whatever is happening with the links so that if people do want to do that, they can.
Joe Wong Great pic, I'm planning on stopping by Antelope Canyon on my way back from a road trip to Vegas this upcoming July.
