Unusual wall treatments such as the horizontal stripes in this entryway are an immediate indication of this home's unique styling. In a small space like this, stripes can be painted on the walls with just two quarts of paint

Create a one-of-a-kind home accent. Save money and get a custom look by building a frame around a mirrored closet door bought at a home improvement store. Use a piece of paintable textured wallcovering for the inset panel above the mirror. Surround the mirror with decorative trim to complete the look.

OMG - I love this project! I did doors on a cabinet - beyond awesome! On this photo from lemontreecreation...: she stained wooden boards with a dark stain - placed doormat on top - then sprayed over all with 4 light coats of creamy colored paint - letting dry between coats. Make sure you get the paint into all the openings. Do not move mat until it is completely dry or it will smear. When you remove it the stained wood that was covered by the mat leaves a beautiful design. You can use any color - on all kinds of surfaces I did some cabinet doors but the possibilities are many. The original project was used for wall art over a sofa.
