Texie P I have a dirt area just off of my patio. I've been trying to think of an easy inexpensive solution to make it usable. I think this would work! Thanks!
Valerie Mullen I had to use pallets when my house was first built. They are dangerous when wet. They become very slippery.
Jennifer Vahalik @Nancy Nemec...don't even think about it! LOL
From dirt to a pallet wood walkway in the garden. So easy!

Spray the plant with Epsom salts (1 teaspoon dissolved in a spray bottle of warm water (about 4 cups). That gives the pepper plant a boost of magnesium that is required at flowering time to produce fruit. Spray them again 10 days later and in a few weeks, our expert friends report, you will have more peppers than you can eat.

Got Pallets? Hate weeding? Dont feel like turning up a bunch of grass? Use a pallet as a garden bed - staple garden cloth on the backside of the pallet fill with dirt and start growing! You can also place your pallet on the ground in a rocky location rather than a grassy area, this way you will not need the garden cloth to stop the weeds and grass comin through! Heidi Clary I did try this and It sort of worked. Next year I just have to make sure the hole in the lid is wide enough. I used a knife and they were very narrow. But other then that a wonderfull Idea!
"When my sister was married last year, I took the roses from her bouquet and rooted them by cutting off the heads, making a clean cut on the bottoms, dipping the fresh-cut bottoms in rooting hormone, and putting them in a pot that was half Perlite and half soil. This year, on her first anniversary, my sister received a gift that could never be replace: 12 rose bushes from her wedding bouquet."

Spring is coming and this is the BEST Weed Spray. I made 3 gallons for around $4.00 last year after seeing a pin. Worked better than Round Up & killed the weeds/stray grass on first application. One gallon of APPLE CIDER VINEGAR, 1/2 c table salt, 1 tsp Dawn. Mix and pour into a smaller spray bottle. (you can purchase 3 gallon size Apple Cider Vinegar in the canning section of a good hardware store - cheap!)

TOP TIP: Flower Pot Drain Hole Cover: Just lay a coffee filter in the bottom of the pot covering the hole before filling the pot. The soil will stay in the pot and the water will still drain out because that is what coffee filters are designed to do; let water through. They last for a long time, too; by the time they fall apart, the potting soil is well packed and the plant has roots that hold the soil together.
