After baby (even if baby is now 4 years old). This workout will tap into the deep abdominal muscles that will pull in your waistline like a corset. Do these moves one after another with no rest in between. Then repeat once.

Thx Dr. Oz: "Peanut Butter & Chocolate--This tasty duo will satisfy even the most voracious sweet tooth. Melt a bar of dark chocolate and mix it into a jar of organic peanut butter. Leave it in the fridge so that it cools and the flavors blend. When a sugar craving strikes, have a spoon. One spoonful has 4.5 grams of sugar. Compare this to your average brownie with a whopping 30 grams of sugar, & you’re well on your way to shaking your sugar habit in healthy ways you never thought possible!"

Dawn Redman Amy- you've posted some awesome things... was just curious if you had any tips for sneaking in veggies to my regular meals? We don't want to go vegetarian ... just want to add more veggies... any of your followers are also welcome to.help if they have tips! Much appreciated!

Profile picture of Amy Lawhorne

Amy Lawhorne Dawn-I've started doing the same thing in my home. I'll add a cup of fresh spinach leaves to our smoothies. They puree & blend right in-kids have no idea its in there! I also add green peppers & fresh basil leaves to omelettes & add pureed carrots to spaghetti sauce. I've also made cornbread w/ broccoli florets in it & the kids love that, too. This is all I've attempted so far but its worked great. Amy I LOVE all your tips & would welcome more ideas, too! Blessings to you!

Soda pop is one of the worst things you can put in your body. Diet is even worse because of the artificial sweeteners. The phosphoric acid turns your bones to mush that is why we are seeing so much osteoporosis. The pH is that of battery acid so you are creating an environment that disease thrives in and the sodium benzoate and citric acid converts to benzene which is a known cancer causing carcinogen. Do you really want to drink this?

Fiona Robertson OK, the sugar thing is realistic but the rest of it is either nonsense or unverified. There has been a minor link in the incidence of bone density loss in cola drinkers, but it is assumed that is because cola drinkers drink far less milk and therefore are lacking calcium in their diets. The levels of phosphoric acid in soda is minimal compared to its presence in meat and dairy products, which is where most of the phosphates in the average diet come from. Citric acid is used in these drinks because it converts far, far less than ascorbic acid, which was used for many years. Benzene is sometimes present when tested, but after regulation is well within safe levels - most benzene occurrence seems to be to do with plastic packaging, rather than the soda itself. And if the sodium benzoate wasn't there, the bacterial risk would be very high - it's used to prevent that. So there are reasons to not drink soda, but it's mostly because it means you're not drinking healthier things.

Profile picture of Sara Killough

Sara Killough Its because carbonation fools your body into thinking it's calcium. Then it just dissolves leaving your bones deficient of calcium.

Profile picture of Mickey Vorpahl

Mickey Vorpahl In all things moderation...

Profile picture of Fiona Robertson

Fiona Robertson That doesn't even make sense. The only theoretical (but disproven) method by which calcium intake could be affected is via acidosis, which intercepts calcium before absorption. However, to get to that stage you'd also be in the midst of extreme headaches, vomiting and organ shutdown. The *only* studies which have shown any relation between bone density loss and soda are ones looking at cola. They showed absolutely no correlation between any other carbonated drink and bone density loss, even in massive doses. If carbonation was doing something like fooling the body into thinking it's calcium, it would be evident in all carbonated drinks. The main culprit in the cola drinks seems to be caffeine, rather than anything else - it causes very temporary adjustments to kidney function which can take up calcium ions, although those effects are reversed within 24 hours.

Profile picture of Mae Carkuff

Mae Carkuff "Cage-free" is usually a scam. Most cage-free chickens have no more room than those in cages. Best to go for "Free-choice" :)

Profile picture of Tanya McIlravy

Tanya McIlravy Without a cage to protect them (aka chicken coop) our chickens would be food for other wildlife. Then, no eggs! Know your farmer, know your food is the best choice.

Profile picture of Erin Turner

Erin Turner I think when they say cage free they mean the chickens aren't in a 2ft by 2ft square metal cage. I would be wary of any eggs saying "Free Choice" that means the chickens are given the choice of grasses and insects but are mostly given grains. We raise chickens for a living...they are pastured chickens who eat grasses, insects and some grains. I like what Tanya said about the best choice is to know your farmer and how they raise their chickens...that's the only way you'll truly know how the chickens live and eat!

Profile picture of Emily Strobel

Emily Strobel We raise our own chickens, too. Mine do have chicken feed in their coop, but they are let out to forage all day on our property (no cage). Lots of grass and bugs to eat now that it's spring!

Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough--my girls & the neighborhood ate it and I just stood by and chuckled to myself. Little do they know what's in it! A can of beans!

The single most effective way to get rid of a sunburn. Put strong, warm or cold tea on sunburn, leave to dry. Repeat. If sunburn is really bad, apply loose cold tea leaves directly to the burned area. I'll know what to do next time!
