Megan O'Connell In my nutrition class, we had a guest lecture by a pediatric obesity weight specialist. She said that she would tell the kids to put their hands together to get an idea of what their average meal size should be. One palm should be grains, the other palm should be protein, and then on the fingers should be fruits and veggies. If you want more food you would have to spread out your fingers, therefore increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables.
