Newspaper will prevent any grass and weed seeds from germinating, but unlike fabric, it will decompose after about 18 months. By that time, any grass and weed seeds that were present in the soil on planting will be dead. It’s green, it’s cheaper than fabric, and when you decide to remove or redesign the bed later on, you will not have the headache you would with fabric.

I am so trying this!!///Cleaning your microwave- 1/4 cup lemon juice and 1/4 water you place in a microwave safe bowl. Put microwave on for 2-3 minutes and then let it sit for 3 minutes. Then just wipe away! All bacteria killed and your microwave is left smelling fresh! :)

Im amazed how many people dont know this. Cook bacon in the oven. Cover cookie sheet with tinfoil first. We do 375 for about 20 min instead of 400 for ten because the lower and slower the more fat renders out. Then all the bacon is done at the same time, meanwhile you were free to make the rest of breakfast. -Martha Stewart

How To Clean a Ceiling Fan with a Pillowcase - So useful! Slide a pillow case over each blade and wipe them clean. The dust goes in the pillow case and can be repeated until all blades are clean. When you're done, take it outside and shake it to set those dust bunnies free once more!

Here's what you need: 1 Empty Windex Spray Bottle 1/8 Cup (1oz) White Ammonia 1/4 Cup (4oz) Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol 1 Drop Laundry Detergent Water - To Fill The Bottle  Isn't it nuts how most of what we're paying for is WATER?  Anyway, I tried this "refill" of my Windex and it's awesome!  No streaks & it even smells like the real thing!   I used a 64 oz bottle of Ammonia and a 16 oz bottle of Rubbing Alcohol that I picked up for $1.00 each at the Dollar Tree.  Wait till you see how cheap it is to "fake" your own Windex:

Take a spray bottle, fill it about 1/8th full with rubbing alcohol, add a drop of Dawn dishwashing soap, a few drops of scented oil (optional, but makes it smell so good), fill the rest of the way with water, shake together, and you're good to go! It makes your granite (or any countertop) shine and feel so smooth at a fraction of the price~I have loved it and use it on my appliances as well. \

MATTRESS spring cleaning:pour about 1 cup of baking soda into a mason jar and drop in 4 drops of lavender essential oil. Put on the lid and shake up the jar.Using a kitchen strainer sprinkle the baking soda mixture all over the mattress and let it sit. I leave it for an hour or more, usually the time it takes for me to finish washing all the bedding and press the bed skirt. Using the hose end of your vacuum and an upholstery attachment, thoroughly vacuum the mattress. Bye, bye dust mites and other nasty things. The baking soda helps draw up any moisture and deep dirtiness. It deodorizes and leaves the mattress smelling fresh and clean. I also love the faint scent of lavender left by the essential oil.
