2/26/12 Top fashion industry stylists like Sophia Neophitou make moral judgement calls on women, just like the Catholic bishops. The whole damn world is fighting over women’s bodies and many of us have just “had it” with fashion monasticism and woman hate from fashion designers like Karl Lagerfeld to stylists like Neophitou to social conservative politicians. American women are fighting for our rights to birth control, and VS is condemning Kate Upton as not their kind of girl.

It seems that Sophia Neophitou, speaking for Victoria's Secret, has pissed off a lot of women. “We would never use” Ms. Upton for a Victoria’s Secret show, Ms. Neophitou said by telephone last week from London. And, while Ms. Upton has, in fact, modeled on occasion for the company’s catalog, her look, said Ms. Neophitou, is “too obvious” to be featured in what has become the most widely viewed runway show in the world.

The editorial channels women’s wisdom, and the price that women have paid globally for our sensuality. . . The stakes are too high these days for American women, who are totally under assault as this fashion editorial communicates. If we fall, goodness knows what happens to women in poor countries.

Those images have haunted me for weeks now, apart from all the commotion over AOC with your now resigned board members saying that I an immoral woman because I have tasteful nudity on AOC — and for a purpose.
