dish drying rack in cupboard. How I would love to free up some counter space by shoving the dish rack in the cabinet. But then, I don't actually have enough cabinet space, either. Damn.

Apparently oranges burn like candles. No messy wax, and no wick required. This must smell amazing! Must try.

Indoor Tulips . . . Step 1 - Fill a glass container about 1/3 of the way with glass marbles or decorative rocks. Clear glass will enable you to watch the roots develop . . . Step 2 - Set the tulip bulb on top of the marbles or stones; pointed end UP. Add a few more marbles or rocks so that the tulip bulb is surrounded but not covered (think support). . .Step 3 - Pour fresh water into the container. The water shouldn't touch the bulb, but it should be very close, so that the roots will grow in...

Lemon, rosemary and vanilla home deodorizer: let simmer all day, adding water when needed. My mom does this at the holidays with cloves, cinnamon sticks, and orange slices - this sounds like a delicious alternative.

Knockoff DIYs of retail decor. (anthropologie, ballard design, crate & barrel, land of nod, pier 1, pottery barn, restoration hardware, urban outfitters, west elm, williams-sonoma and others). Hells yes.
what a difference increasing the height of the cabinets with wood and molding and adding the corbels makes
Frame your mother's/grandmother's handwritten recipes in your kitchen. Oh, yes.

I like the color, the hanging utensils, the oranges - everything.

Take something you really love, a letter, envelope, photograph, a ticket stub... anything - and take it to a printing place like kinkos and have them blow it up for you to hang as art. Brilliant

"In Sweden, as soon as it turned cold, everyone had lanterns on their porches and out in front of their shops, and the interiors were filled with candles too. I suggest we adopt this everyday tradition in the Pacific Northwest to help us endure this rainy, dark winter. It makes a world of difference." photography by Per Magnus Persson
I love baskets, but Chris looks askance every time I bring one home. Maybe if they were hanging he wouldn't mind. :)
Tea can magnets! This is genius. Currently, my kitchen pen storage is a string pinned to the fridge bulletin board, to which I clip way too many pens and pencils. This is unfathomably better.

Oh!! I love this SO much. I brought a Twinings tin home from London (6 years ago. Ahem.) intending to use it for recipe cards, but that never materialized. This is SO much better.

LOVE this photo collage. In the comments she says that she used bighugelabs.com to make the collage, and printed it at mpix.com. Note to self.

Kamala .. Love these. But maybe only for grown ups. Kid + glass + condensation = double trouble.
Ashley Hart True -- but mason jars are seriously sturdy. The only time I've ever broken one is by dropping it at just the right angle onto tile from 4 feet in the air. On the other hand, you have tile in your kitchen, right?
