Quadcopters perform the James Bond theme song using keyboard, drums, maracas, a cymbal, and a specially-adapted giant guitar-thing.

For the past 7 years, Joe has been digging out his basement at an average annual rate of 8 to 9 cubic feet using nothing more than RC tractors and trucks. He even has a miniature rock crusher!

Jen Pratt "It's been a great hobby thus far, dreaming up - building all sorts of different minature equipment from kits or from scratch for this "mining" project. If it wasn't for this mining project I probably would have lost of interest in this hobby by now b/c once the models are built - the novelty of how they work & perform would wear off with no task to be accomplished them,"

"In 2011 a single robot [...] armed with only four speakers and a dream, [...] encouraged others to dance to the music eminating from his very being. Full on dance parties ensued. However, he was only one robot and could only do so much. Next year he will have friends."—Robot Dance Party

The miniature ships built by Liquid Robotics are powered by the sun and the very waves they ride on. They’re going on a trans-Pacific voyage to explore parts of the ocean never before seen, and sending data back the whole time.

In an experiment that opens a new chapter in human-machine interaction, a French research team has demonstrated how a robot can control both its own arm and a person’s arm to manipulate objects in a collaborative manner. The robot controls the human limb by sending small electrical currents to electrodes taped to the person's forearm and biceps, which allows it to command the elbow and hand to move. In the experiment, the person holds a ball, and the robot a hoop; the robot, a small humanoid, has to coordinate the movement of both arms to successfully drop the ball through the hoop. / cc @Ben Golder @Evan Sharp

"exploring the relationship between machine and art, so kanno and takahiro yamaguchi have created 'senseless drawing bot', a self-propelling device on a skateboard that sprays abstract linework on a stretch of wall using a double pendulum. extrapolating the dynamism of modern graffiti forms, the robot takes advantage of the chaotic gestures of the swinging pendulum to create erratic yet organic paint strokes."
