Allison aka Half of VAMH Reminds me of these that Seth took! http://www.flickr.com/photo...

One of the more beautiful Milky Way photos I've seen. This one is taken over the two small towns of Gerlach and Empire, Nevada. I have dreams that look like this.

"Mammatus clouds are most often associated with the anvil cloud and severe thunderstorms. They often extend from the base of a cumulonimbus, but may also be found under altocumulus, altostratus, stratocumulus, and cirrus clouds, as well as volcanic ash clouds. When occurring in cumulonimbus, mammatus are often indicative of a particularly strong storm or perhaps even a tornadic storm."

Photographer Phil Hart captures Noctiluca scintillans – also known as “sea sparkle,” “sea fire,” “sea ghost” and any number of other delightfully romantic-sounding names – are a species of dinoflagellate that feed on algae, plankton and bacteria.
