Great information about making photo books and organizing pictures on your computer // This is so great! Think I'll start doing the yearly photobooks. May also look into (one day?) sorting older prints by year as she has them.

All you need is an empty Kleenex box. Oh, and cash. Dollar bills. Tape the dollar bills together end to end with Scotch tape. Obviously the more dollar bills the greater the “WOW.” Stuff them in the Kleenex box with just one dollar sticking out of the box. It’s fun to watch someone’s eyes grow wider as they pull out the dollars that go on and on. Make a tag that says: Don’t blow it all in one place. Happy Birthday.

Who knew?? Use baking soda and vinegar to fix funky towels. Over time, and with many washes, your bath towels will build up detergent and fabric softener residue, leaving them both unable to absorb as much water and smelling kinda funky when they do. Rather than give Target another lump sum, run them through the wash once with hot water and a cup of vinegar, then again with hot water and a half-cup of baking soda, as wikiHow suggests. That strips the residue from them, leaves them smelling fa...
every single person I know who either owns or does laundry for someone who wears white undershirts needs to be aware of this. it's going to save us all a bazillion dollars.
The next time you have green onions, don't throw away the white ends. Simply submerge them in a glass of water and place them in a sunny window. Your onions will begin to grow almost immediately and can be harvested almost indefinitely. We just use kitchen scissors to cut what we need for meals. I periodically empty out the water, rinse the roots off and give them fresh water.
No helium needed to fill balloons for parties.

Sometimes the key to making a fix is just knowing the right product to use. We asked our team of professional carpenters, plumbers, painters, electricians and fix-it gurus what their favorite products were, and this is what they told us they never leave home without.

interesting ... put a tiny bit of toothpaste into a small cup, mix in one teaspoon baking soda and half a teaspoon water. Thoroughly mix then brush your teeth for two minutes. Remember to do it once a week until you have reached the results you want. Once your teeth are good and white, limit yourself to using the whitening treatment once every month or two.

Every January, I turn all of the hangers in my closet backwards, like this. It takes about 60 seconds: Each time I wear an item, I hang it back up in the normal fashion, which takes zero effort to remember or do. In June, any item that is still hanging backwards has not been worn in 6 months, and I usually donate it to Goodwill unless I can come up with a good reason to save it.
