One of my personally tricky storage items was the kids DVDs. We keep the kids ones separated, so it makes it really easy for the kids to choose movies they are allowed to see. This is an okay exception of the “keep like with like” principle, because not all DVDs are so alike! What made this tricky to me, is that my kids mostly watch movies in the living room, and I do not consider their DVDs good decor for the center of my home. Our recycling station. This also holds the “take away” basket, re-usable shopping bags, and a few what nots. You can see that I also like to hang my seasonal front door wreaths on the walls of my garage. Easily accessible for seasonal shifts, plus they’re decorative, right?

I opted for open shelves instead of closed cabinets. I don’t mind looking at my storage, because it reminds me what I have and is very flexible for different sized items. We don’t have a ton of tools. If you do have a ton of tools, try to cut redundancy and use good tool organizers.

I bought new organizers for our silverware! You don't even want to know what I used to do with these!! Ok, I will tell you. I just threw everything in the drawer and that worked for me. HAHA! I know, LAZY!! I am better now!

I also did a quick re-do under my sink. I even took out my liner and washed it. (It really needed it!)
I use the cabinet daily so I like to know where everything is.

We don't really make a lot of coffee so we keep our coffee maker in a cabinet instead of on the counter. I enjoy an empty counter.

I REALLY simplified my cookbooks! I mostly go online so I felt like I could cutback on the books. The bottom shelf of this cabinet is where I keep my camera so it is always handy!
I had my momma's helper help me with this cabinet. I really can't bend over to organize this and she did a great job! I hate organizing these so I end up just throwing them under the cabinet and quickly closing the door. I know, I am so lame but oh well! LOL!
I also got our summer workbooks organized! I want to do a simple, summer homeschool program with them. I don't want to do too much but I don't want them to forget everything over the summer either. Plus, my kids really enjoy this so it works for us! :)

All the white shelving is just some simple stuff from Ikea. It has held up beautifully, which is a nice surprise!
I tried for something that wasn’t too boyish and wasn’t too girly… so “safari” seemed to be a good choice for us. It seemed like a fun, fresh idea for both boys and girls.

Going through the filing the papers each day keeps it from piling up too much.
