Remove a splinter with baking soda is best for tiny, invisible splinters. Using a baking soda paste it will cause the skin to swell and push the splinter out.

Need to remember this ... so many clothes I thought were ruined... Chalk will remove grease stains from clothes. Simply rub the stain with chalk, then toss in the wash as normal.

Interesting :(2011-07) Baking soda and orange juice mask. This combo gets rid of blackheads and is great for treating hormonal breakouts. The baking soda exfoliates and fights acne while the acid in the orange juice tightens pores and the vitamin C brightens. Here are her instructions: 1. Mix 1 tbsp real orange juice with 1 tbsp baking soda (I like to use a shot glass – ha!) 2. Spread a thin layer on face. (There should be enough for two applications, or one if you put it on your neck a...

homemade ice packs 2- cups of water 1/3- cup (80%) rubbing alcohol zip-top plastic bag Combine water and alcohol in a zipper-top bag. Seal top and freeze. The alcohol keeps it from freezing solid and creates a gel-like ice pack. You can add food coloring to the water to your liking for something different. Be sure to label your bag so you know what it is. Contents are not to be swallowed.

I think this would be fun to make, although I'll probably find something other than Vaseline, maybe beeswax ?
Use baking soda and vinegar to fix funky towels. Over time, and with many washes, your bath towels will build up detergent and fabric softener residue, leaving them both unable to absorb as much water and smelling kinda funky when they do. Rather than give Target another lump sum, run them through the wash once with hot water and a cup of vinegar, then again with hot water and a half-cup of baking soda, as wikiHow suggests. That strips the residue from them, leaves them smelling fairly fresh again, and makes your post-shower experience a dryer one,

Homemade Icepacks. This is so cool - you use plain Dawn....it doesn't freeze totally solid but like those gel packs you can buy where you contour them to your body. So neat!

Apple Cider Vinegar -The only vinegar that can, and SHOULD, be consumed daily. Benefits: Helps clear acne when taken orally and applied topically. If applied topically you dilute it with water, dab it on a breakout and rinse after 15 minutes. Promotes digestion. A blocked digestive tract can lead to all kinds of skin problems. It is also a natural cure for constipation. Super high in minerals and potassium which can help slow down the aging of your skin. Helps reduce sinus infections and sore throats. Encourages the growth of healthy bacteria within your body. Can help ease menstrual cramps. It has been used for centuries as a natural weight loss remedy. When purchasing apple cider vinegar make sure that its says "Raw" and "Unfiltered." This is very important. 1-2 tablespoons per glass mixed with water daily! Add a tablespoon of organic honey or stevia if it tastes too bitter for you. Hippocrates-recommended!

Heat a bowl of water and vinegar for 5 minutes in the microwave. The steam will get rid of stains and then you simply wipe it off.

Katy Wright I love this trick! I find I don't really need the vinegar very often, the steam is enough to clean.

:) put a tiny bit of toothpaste into a small cup, mix in one teaspoon baking soda and half a teaspoon water. Thoroughly mix then brush your teeth for two minutes. Remember to do it once a week until you have reached the results you want. Once your teeth are good and white, limit yourself to using the whitening treatment once every month or two.
