Kira Johnston There have been many "bad" breeds of dogs over the years. The Rottweiler, the Doberman Pinscher, the Chow-Chow, the German Shepherd. None of these breeds were bad as a whole, they were simply the "popular" breed that people wanted to train to be aggressive in their time. The Pit Bull is no different.

McKenzie Ransom People need to educate themselves before speaking out against pit bulls (or any breed for that matter) ANY DOG can be trained and bred to be aggressive, it just so happens that pit bulls are a favorite pick to do so because of their intense loyalty and strong build. We have three dogs, a Pit Bull, a Chihuahua, and a Maltese. Ask any of our friends or family if they would like to go into our home, at night, while we're not there and I'm sure they'd quickly answer NO...but not because of our Pitty-girl, because of our high-strung Chihuahua! The media goes into such a frenzy when they hear of a "dangerous breed" attack but people are attacked everyday by dogs of all breeds...media just chooses to focus on those that will get the highest ratings. All that said, there is a problem with some bloodlines that have been bred for fighting and for high aggression and those (sadly) need to be addressed, but that's no reason to label HARMLESS and LOVING family pets (...members) as dangerous.
