Love the Lord With All Your Heart, Soul & Mind

Dear God, Please untie the knots that are in my mind, my heart, and my life. Remove the have nots, cannots, and do nots. Erase the will nots, may nots, might nots that may find a home in my heart. Release me from the could nots, would nots, should nots that obstruct my life.. And most of all, Dear God, I ask that you remove from my mind, my heart, and my life all of the “am nots” that I have allowed to hold me back. Especially the thought that I am not good enough. Amen - Unknown

There are things we’ll never know in this lifetime. Prayer is not meant to leave you wondering. We make request to the Heavenly Father just like any child would with their earthly father. God answers all prayers and usually they are yes, no, or wait. We all know this.

Isaiah 14:27 says, “The LORD of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it?” (ESV) God’s plan for your life can’t be stopped by a bad break, someone leaving you, an injustice or a mistake. It’s easy to think that because we aren’t where we want to be in life, or we’ve made poor decisions or faced unfortunate setbacks that God’s plans for our life are over. Nothing you have done or haven’t done can cancel you from your destiny as long as you keep God first place and continually seek Him.

Things to Remember during the Storms of Life…1. God is in full control of the timing and intensity of your trial and will not allow it to go beyond His boundaries. 2. He has a specific purpose for your suffering which you may not understand until it is over. 3. This trial will prove to be profitable if you submit to God and trust Him through it. 4. Trying situations are opportunities for faith to prove genuine and grow stronger.

There is a psalm which reads: Psalm 66:18: If I had harbored sin in my heart, the sovereign Master would not have listened. If I regard wickedness in my heart, The Lord will not hear. There are many reasons why God does not answer our prayers the way we would like. One reason is that we are willfully persisting in sin and disobedience. In such cases, the verse above would apply. There are times when we are simply asking for the wrong things, or for the wrong reasons

Hebrews 11:8 ”By faith Abraham . . . obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” And later he was commended by God for His unswerving faith despite the overwhelming obstacles that he faced. Remember, “When God is going to do something wonderful, he begins with a difficulty.” . . . When he is going to do something miraculous, “He begins with an impossibility.”

Question: “Why pray? What is the point of prayer when God knows the future and is already in control of everything. If we cannot change God’s mind, why should we pray?” For the Christian, praying is like breathing. It is easier to do it than to not do it. We pray for a variety of reasons. For one thing, prayer is a form of serving God (Luke 2:36-38) and obeying Him. We pray because God commands us to pray (Philippians 4:6-7).

Proverbs 21:3 The Lord is more pleased when we do what is just and right than when we give Him sacrifices. Doing the right thing is not always easy. As a matter of fact, unless you are a very mature Christian, doing the right thing is rarely easy. The “benefits” of not doing the right thing will often outweigh the “consequences” of doing the right thing – at least from a worldly mindset. It is much easier to justify your wrong deeds than to make the hard decision to do the right thing.

Psalm 51:1: Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me. The Presence of the Lord in our lives are one of the single most important attributes in our lives. We cannot live without the Presence of the Lord. The Bible says in Psalm 140:13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence (before your very face). The Presence of the Lord is so important, and yet few Believers know what the Presence of God really means.

What It’s All About ... It’s not about following our career path It’s about following His call upon our lives. - Matthew 16:24 It’s not about our self-efforts to live for Him; It’s about letting Him live His life in us. - Galatians 2:20 It’s not about our attempts at self-improvement; It’s about His transforming grace. - II Corinthians 5:17 It’s not about our self-image; It’s about being conformed to His image. - Romans 8:29

Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. The reason I encourage Christians to find a good church is because the Bible instructs us to be in relationship with other believers. If we are part of Christ’s body, we will recognize our need to fit into the body of believers. The Church is the place where we come together to encourage one another as members of Christ’s body.

What Faith Is Not... Faith is not religion. Many times people say “We have our faith”. What they mean is this: “We have our religious ideas and doctrines, our traditions, our ways of doing things passed down through the generations. Don’t you try to change them.” This is not the Biblical idea of faith. Faith is not mental assent. It is not agreeing with your mind, “Yes, that is true.”

Prayer is both the most exhilarating and the most frustrating experience in life. When God answers your prayer, it’s a feeling like no other. You stagger around for days, awestruck because the Creator of the Universe reached down and worked in your life. You know a miracle happened, big or small, and that God did it for just one reason: because he loves you.

Experiencing God is rarely how we think it will be. We hope for a booming voice, maybe an eye-popping miracle, or even an instant solution to all our life problems. What actually happens is something quite different. This all-wise, all-powerful Ruler of the Universe does indeed touch the lives of his followers, but in this day and age, he typically does it in a way that is very private and very personal. When it comes to people experiencing God in the Bible, we think of Jesus’ miracles.

Learning how to forgive others is one of the most unnatural duties in the christian life. It goes against our human nature. Forgiving is a supernatural act that Jesus Christ was capable of, but when we are hurt by someone, we want to hold a grudge. We want justice. Sadly, we don’t trust God with that. There is a secret to successfully living the Christian life, however, and that same secret applies when we’re struggling with how to forgive.

All of us, whether new Christians or lifelong believers, battle feelings of disappointment when life goes wrong. Deep down, we think that following Christ should give us special immunity against trouble. We’re like Peter, who tried to remind Jesus, “We have left everything to follow you.” (Mark 10:28).

We all want the blessing of the Lord on our lives, and h.e desires to bless us! He is not the One withholding blessing from us. He tells us that He wants to bless us and He also tells us what we must to do to receive His blessing. The Word clearly states that God will bless the work of our hands! We have God’s promise that if we are obedient to His word that He will bless our work. So we must do two things to receive God’s blessing – work and obey! If we do the right thing – we'll be blessed.

Sin is always attractive, if it weren’t we wouldn’t commit sin. What is sinful attracts momentarily and we fall into the trap of believing it will satisfy our needs. But the following day we are still dissatisfied. Why? Because what is sinful never satisfies. The devil deceives us to make us think that sin is attractive but we discover afterwards that sin damages and did not bring the joy we wanted.

“Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.” ― Og Mandino

The difference, of course, is that we can turn to Jesus when things go wrong. Unbelievers might argue that we’re only turning to our imagination, but we know better. It’s at times like this when we must remember the Scriptures, for Jesus hath said in Matthew 28:20b, “lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Amen! Jesus never fails! When all you have is God, you have all you need. In Hebrews 13:5 God promises us, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

In contrast with the teachings about God’s anger are the teachings about His mercy. We are told that “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) He is “merciful and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in goodness and truth.”(Exodus 34:6) He is “good, ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy …full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering.” (Psalm 86:5,15) “The Lord is longsuffering and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression.”(Numbers 14:18) “He has not dealt with us according to our sins.

There is no such thing as an unanswered prayer. God always answers each of our prayers. Yet he may not answer in the way we prayed he would. Sometimes the answer is, “Wait.” We must wait on his timing in order to move ahead. Sometimes his answer is for us to “Grow.” Our request is right on target, but we still have some growing to do in order to move ahead. Still, sometimes we are disappointed to hear his answer is, “No.” Our request is not in line with his will.

The last thing Jesus said to his disciples was,…you will be my witnesses throughout the whole world. Acts 1:8 ”But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

The Holy Spirit is a personal being just as the Father and the Son. The Spirit is not an impersonal “it” or simply an influence. There is no personal name for the Third Person of the Godhead. The Bible does not give us His name. He is known variously as the Holy Spirit, the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of the LORD, the Comforter.

With every act of obedience, there is a blessing. When God asks you to do something that seems difficult — forgive somebody that really hurt you, walk away from a friend that is polluting your life, let go of an addiction— it takes a major effort on your part. But you can be assured that a major blessing will follow. There will be a significant shift in your life for the better. God always rewards obedience.

“As I've looked into the eyes of street children in Afghanistan desperate for a future other than terrorism, or children in Rwanda hungry for something greater than genocide, I've reached one big conclusion: we belong to one another. And children across the Earth deserve the same hopes and opportunities we give our children here."-->Bernard Amadei, civil engineering professor at the University of Colorado and founder of Engineers Without Borders” ― Bernard Amadei

“I bear my testimony that there is no joy to be found in all this world like that of sweet communion with Christ. I would barter all else there is of heaven for that. Indeed, that is heaven. As for the harps of gold and the streets like clear glass and the songs of seraphs and the shouts of the redeemed, one could very well give all these up, counting them as a drop in a bucket, if we might forever live in fellowship and communion with Jesus.” ― Charles H. Spurgeon

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” - Romans 8:28
