From an article in The Guardian about restrictions on numbers trekking the classic route to Machu Picchu..."in 2005, the government acted to limit those trekking the "classic" four-day route to 500 a day as the rapidly growing number of walkers threatened to overwhelm the route's infrastructure and damage Inca ruins. " The article suggests this number is unreasonable; after all, out of the 500, only 200 are tourists, with the rest as their guide support.

Guides and long-time climbers from the Gunks will be providing FREE clinics each Saturday(weather permitting, I assume) evening in the Uberfall area. This is a chance to learn ways to build anchors, belay, self-rescue techniques and other skills so very important to being a safe climber. New to climbing and those who have years under their harness are welcome to attend.

This graphic is from my website(http://www.cafepress.com/climbaddict/6791898), and somewhere along the line someone's added a tan ground. I went to the source link, and it in posted on a Tumblr blog with no credit. This is my most popular designs, and the blogger has more than a dozen Likes and RePosts. I wouldn't mind - if credit was given...

ClimbAddict (Happiegrrrl) I agree Lucy. By the way - you and I know each other through another online vehicle. Not sure if you know, but I am Talisman Studios at the Etsy Climbers Team! As a note: The Orignal Pinner of this image quickly edited his Pin to reflect that it is a ClimbAddict graphic. I have also sent communication to the Tumblr blogger asking him to credit the source on Tumblr. So far no reply, but it's only been overnight.
