BOARDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER (BPD) is a serious and often life-threatening disorder that is characterized by severe emotional pain and difficulties managing emotions. The problems associated with BPD include impulsivity (including suicidality and self-harm), severe negative emotion such as anger and/or shame, chaotic relationships, an extreme fear of abandonment, and accompanying difficulties maintaining a stable and accepting sense of self. Thus, BPD is characterized by pervasive instability of mood, interpersonal relationships, self-image, and actions, often negatively affecting loved ones, family and work life, long-term planning, and the individual's sense of self-identity. For more than twenty years, I have worked in the mental health field in various positions. My goal is to earn my doctorate in clinical psychology. I am an advocate of informing other of mental health issues to help break down the stigma and misconceptions and help others to understand. This BOARD is dedicated to Borderline Personality Disorder. Specific issues and diagnoses are on the boards for Depression & Suicide, Bipolar Disorder, Feelings/Thoughts and Other Issues which are all on the boards near the top. Near the bottom of the page are boards that are specific to Self Injury, Eating Disorders and Sexual Abuse. Please take a look at the Mental Health Videos they are quite interesting and some very entertaining. If there are videos, some only display the description and the play symbol, but if you click on the play symbol it will play the video. Please check my board, Advocacy ~ Clothing & More for items that are available for purchase.

Push-Pull - is a chronic pattern of sabotaging and re-establishing closeness in a relationship without apparent cause or reason. It’s that back and forth feeling of wanting to be close to someone, letting them into a more intimate and vulnerable position in our life, being suffocated, or becoming afraid of that vulnerability, needing to escape [potentially] being hurt, fearing the loss, acting on that fear, and then desperately trying to get that person back from fear of that abandonment

Katzensprotte Why is Germany "Unstable Moods" country? I'd also love to see the whole Borderline map of Europe XD
Borderline Personality Disorder feature may include a markedly and persistently unstable self-image. For me, everything in my world gets filtered through my self-hatred. I am ultra sensitive to anything that I can perceive as a criticism which is everything. I can turn everything into “I am bad.”

Scared of telling my therapist my true thoughts because he/she might abandon me...common fear. Don't let that feeling take over and "abandon" he/she first for you would really be abandoning taking care of you first. Hang in there when you feel like fleeing talking about it. I promise that you might feel like dying, but you won't if you struggle through it.

"Even when I'm so lonely that it hurts... I'd rather be alone." From PostSecret. For someone with Borderline Personality disorder they are often ambivalent about life & attachment to others

Rachel Buchner I've read the book and seen the movie, really good, I can relate in a lot of ways. Though it is really depressing but good.
Sorry..it is part of the disorder, but I'm learning to manage it as each day goes by. I need to remind myself that I need to be patient with myself

Borderline Feature ~ feeling smaller than and less capable of someone else who we wish will rescue us when we have the resources to do so. And, sometimes we need genuine help especially when we learn to find our way out...tough work.

HiLLjO I have Jah, too, and because of the light He brought to my situation I have realized my inner strength He gave me to help me heal myself with the loving man He brought to my life. Best wishes and Namaste Coleen.
Sherry Senicar Thank you for posting this video, it will be great to show my close friends and family since it is hard to put into words what I live with in my mind and body. Believing in 'God' is not going to help with this disorder, he/she can not 'fix' me.
Alea Dean this is my most favorite video on borderline personality!
Coleen Uyehara This really felt like this fit so well...it too is my favorite.
Rachel Buchner Great video, can relate...
