Kids with special needs - such a tough subject and sensitive to talk about - especially if you have "typical" kids. This post give some great insight into how both types of parents think/feel - both those with typical kids and those with special needs. Much of the discussion happens in the comments, so be sure to read those too.
Just bought this autism necklace. LOVE

Lora Kohnlein I've had a few threatening confrontations with older males who thought I was an overindulgent parent when my son with Autism acted out, it scared me and made me want scream in their faces, HE HAS AUTISM! Don't judge a book by it's cover!
Great ideas for rainy day activities with your special needs kids. :)

supposed to be the best....This is the BEST BEST BEST play dough recipe you will ever find - I have used it for 8 years in my classroom. The kids absolutely love it. The recipe on this link is for a small batch - here is the classroom size batch, and we use a bit of baby oil in it as well to add a really smooth and soft texture. Parents rotate and bring us new play dough every week. The recipe: 4 cups water, 4 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 2 tablespoons cooking oil, 4 teaspoons cream of tartar, food coloring. Combine ingredients. Cook, stirring constantly, until most of the moisture is absorbed. Store in a covered container or Ziploc – does not need refrigeration. Add a bit of baby oil to get a softer texture.
