Making GimBap with Urim's Mom - in Ms. Lirenman's class in Surrey, British Columbia. This is an activity in our elementary Flat Classroom project where the students cook and share how things are made. It is precious and exciting.

Alan Levine (@cogdog) shares how our online and offline worlds interact with some fascinating questions about online identity. (This was done as a keynote for the high school students on the NetGen and Flat Classroom project but could be used for multiple ages.)

This incredible video made by Heather Hanson and her students on the Rosebud Indian reservation has students speaking out about who they are. The article shares about what they did and the impact and pride it is having on their reservation and school. This is a video worth watching and an article worth reading if you're a teacher. Collaborating and flattening the classroom sometimes means speaking out to a world that doesn't get your situation.

"The web" is not ONE experience. We must make school and projects accessible on all platforms. Being platform agnostic is vital for websites and global collaborative projects.

Made in 2009 in Qatar by Flat Classroom Conference Board member, George Haines, this video depicts what happens when students of all ages get together in an unlikely place: Doha, Qatar. It was a wonderful experience and students share what Flat Classroom means to them.

No Future Left Behind. This keynote video was created by Marianne Malmstrom and Peggy Sheehy's middle school students at Suffern Middle School. They wanted to talk about how education should evolve and tell a compelling story.

Time to grow keynote from K12 Online Conference - The goal of this presentation was to encourage teachers that they could grow one step at a time. This was Vicki and Julie's first online keynote together. Rewatching it, I'm surprised that although done in 2008 that it is still more relevant than ever.
