Remove a splinter with baking soda is best for tiny, invisible splinters. Using a baking soda paste it will cause the skin to swell and push the splinter out.

This long-forgotten gem of a cleaning agent may be used with a little water or vinegar to lift even the most stubborn stains.  Unattractive grout driving you batty?  Mold and mildew stains got you reaching for the Prozac?  Burner pans and casserole dishes giving you fits?  Cream of Tartar is your new best friend. Cream of tartar is one of nature’s best bleaching agents.

TIP FOR KEEPING BERRIES FROM GOING MOLDY!! When you get your berries home, prepare a mixture of one part vinegar (white or apple cider probably work best) and ten parts water. Dump the berries into the mixture and swirl around. Drain, rinse if you want (though the mixture is so diluted I find you can't taste the vinegar,) and pop in the fridge. The vinegar kills any mold spores and other bacteria that might be on the surface of the fruit, and voila! Raspberries will last a week or more, and I've had strawberries go almost two weeks without getting moldy and soft.

I am trying this... Maybe this weekend!! Lemonade Kool-Aid as Dishwasher Cleaner Clean lime deposits and iron stains inside the dishwasher by pouring a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid (the only flavor that works) into the detergent cup and running the (empty) dishwasher. The citric acid in the mix wipes out stains; you don't have to.

Use dawn to make ice packs!! Partially fill a ziploc and seal then throw it in another bag to be safe and freeze. It stays cold longer than ice and is a great flexible ice pack!
