"Edible landscaping means using attractive, food-producing plants in a well-designed garden, rather than using solely ornamental plants or planting food crops in utilitarian layouts. An edible landscape can be created in any style, and it can incorporate a mix of edible and ornamental plants."

HEALTH ALERT: Vinegar is supposed to be healthy and eco-friendly, right? Did you know that it may not be?! I was skeptical when I first heard this and have checked into it further. According to the FDA, petroleum-based alcohol and vinegar can be used as a food ingredient or in the food production process. So yes, your vinegar may be made from petroleum :( Check those labels to be sure!

The FDA has put out a list of "approved food additives". Many are not healthy ingredients and their answer is that the amounts allowed are not harmful. You be the judge. Please note *Butane* is on the list. It's more like a list for a chemist's lab.

Coconut milk shampoo. Going to try this. Have been "no-poo" for months now, but need something more conditioning. We'll see... 1/4 cup coconut milk 1/3 cup liquid castile soap 1 tsp vitamin E, olive or almond oil 10 to 20 drops your choice of essential oils

Joan Shields The only good that can come out of the FDA NOT mandating the labeling of foods w/ GMO will be the savings on ink or lead based labels,L0L. So many of our foods ARE GMO based. I typically just look for USDA Certified Organic.
Denise Aday @Joan Shields Quite right :)
Flour, sugar, water & white vinegar = better cheaper Mod Podge

Joan Shields I've signed petitions, & went to occupy wall street to bring awareness of labeling. I find talking with others and explaining what GMO's are and why the FDA needs to labels helps. Education is key.
Denise Aday @Joan Shields - Yes! Thank you!
