St Hildegard of Bingen, (1098–1179), was a German writer, composer, philosopher, mystic, Benedictine abbess, visionary, & polymath. Elected a magistra, she founded the monasteries of Rupertsberg & Eibingen. One of her musical compositions, the Ordo Virtutum, is an early example of liturgical drama & arguably the oldest surviving morality play. She wrote theological, botanical & medicinal texts, as well as letters, liturgical songs, & poems, while supervising brilliant miniature Illuminations.

The Hunger - David Bowie, Catherine Deneuve & Susan Sarandon. The movie was released in 1983 and I consider it to be one of the best vampire movies. There is even a cameo of Peter Murphy singing "Bela Lugosi's Dead".

Lloyd Schieldge --In a tiny corner of western Poland a forest of about 400 pine trees grow with a 90 degree bend at the base of their trunks - all bent northward. Surrounded by a larger forest of straight growing pine trees this collection of curved trees, or "Crooked Forest," is a mystery.

Good. There's hope for me yet - Artist/bohemian Beatrice Wood. Interesting biography, her most productive years were from age 80 until her death at 105.

These wooden birds, carved inside World War II-era Japanese American internment camps, are a sampling of the artwork in “The Art of Gaman” by Delphine Hirasuna. The bird’s tiny legs were crafted from the surplus snipped off the wire mesh screens over barrack windows.
Artist Neil Harbisson is completely colour-blind. He explains to the BBC how a camera attached to his head allows him to hear colour. Amazing story, and amazing device.

Tank Mask ‘Masks like this one were worn by British crews in tanks during the First World War. The leather mask is shaped to fit around the eyes and nose and the chain mail was used to protect against splinters from explosions as the tank came under fire. Life inside these primitive vehicles would have been extremely uncomfortable as well as dangerous.’ ~Protective face mask, United Kingdom, 1917-1918)
