Cavender's Greek seasoning is a great general purpose seasoning blend. It contains 13 different seasonings, spices & herbs, and can be used on virtually everything the same as seasoning salt. I love to use it with cabbage bit.ly/gpKNdW and on roasts bit.ly/pmjo5L

Butterball turkey. I've tried a wide variety of turkey brands & I always come right back to Butterball. It was the bird of choice of my Mama. I should know better than to experiment.

I've used a variety of spicy mustards, but I always seem to turn back to Zatarain's Creole Mustard. It's a nice blend of stone ground mustard and tang. Great for sandwiches, potato and pasta salads or anywhere you need a spicy mustard.

Gumbo file is a seasoning from dried sassafras leaves. It's used as a condiment on gumbo to act as a thickener, especially in the absence of okra. I happen to like to add it even then. You can also sprinkle it on soups.

Hidden Valley Ranch - if you're gonna use a commercial Ranch dressing this is my favored one. You'll need the seasoning packets for things like my Buffalo Chicken Dip bit.ly/m5Yomq Taco Soup bit.ly/cIeJG0 and one variation of my 3 Envelope Roast bit.ly/h6jFJD to name a few.

In my little ole opinion, Atlanta based Coca-Cola rules in the south too and you're never gonna change my mind about it. Not Pepsi. Not Diet Rite. Not Dr Pepper. All good, but they are not Coca-Cola. In the small bottles preferably please.

Kitchen Bouquet is a browning and seasoning sauce used to add richness to meats, gravies, and stews. The ingredients include caramel coloring, and a mixed vegetable stock, including carrots, onions, celery, parsnips, turnips, salt, and parsley. It only takes a little to boost the flavor & color in many things, like this Roast Beef Po'boy.

We use a lot of Rotel tomatoes, especially in our Cajun cooking down this way, so they're always a pantry staple. bit.ly/9VErsx I use mild and original the most, and hot when I really want some fire!

Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning is my stand-by, go-to all purpose seasoning. I use it in most everything! Their hot sauce is fast becoming my new favorite too. It's a nice blast of Cajun zest - you can visually see the speckles of black pepper in it!

If you want the best biscuits ever, buy White Lily and use these tips: bit.ly/d35vmX This recipe uses self rising though so make sure you don't use all purpose! And yes, I realize that they moved out of the south but I still think it is the superior flour and yes, I can tell the difference.

Use this version or country mild for your Southern Sausage Gravy bit.ly/qC9QP3 - or choose the "hot" version if you like to spice things up! Use any of those or sage for your sausage dressing.

Gretchen Gaylor Tindell If you use store-bought...this is the ONE to use!
Klista Shaban I've never heard of this brand...it must not be available over here on the West Coast.
Gloria Borges You are a God send...thank you...:)
Kate LaFrance Went to PA and couldn't find it - so I ordered it off the net. Can't wait!
Sandra Kennedy THIS WAS THE CHOICE OF ELVIS PRESLEY SO YOU KNOW IT IS GOOD
Fetching pins…
Marla Schwartz I use the salt-free version. Good stuff!!
Pam Duncan Marla...That's for mentioning the Salt-Free Version...I had no clue they even made one...I will be searching to buy it because we had to go salt-free and we sure miss the taste !! Thank you
Marla Schwartz Glad I could help. It tastes good. With all the salt that's put into everything these days, it helps to cut back where you can. The salt-free is blue (like the Greek flag, lol) instead of yellow. Hope that helps.
Debra Simmons My grandfather was Greek and a fabulous cook. Cavendar's does make my food taste more like his. We've been using it for many years. We love it on everything we grill, too.
Marianne Wellborn We can't cook without Cavender's - it goes in everything from meats to soups. Even tho we are from So. Louisiana, we use this almost more than cajun seasonings.
