Richard Blanco is a Chicago-based painter whose geometric paintings I’m completely taken with. Some of his abstract works are for sale as prints on Society6, while others remain as paintings on canvas and paper. A lot of his pieces make me feel like I’m staring in a kaleidoscope and I like it!

earthnform designs a line of porcelain that is both sculptural and architectural. What’s unique about them is that they design the pieces from package material. If you think about how much plastic is produced and where it goes after you’ve opened whatever it is that you bought, it’s quite overwhelming. Well, earthnform wants to bring the issue to the surface while at the same time “producing functional pieces cast from found plastic.” By reusing the packaging material, they in turn, create art.

Joe Kievitt’s abstract works are what he describes as “drawings with ink and acrylic on paper.” I call it colorful patterning at its best. He uses tape that he cuts at various widths with a custom-made tool to isolate areas for ink and paint washes to be applied. The patterns in each piece are perfectly imperfect (which happens to be my favorite kind).

Leigh Bagley creates some of most fun and vibrant geometric prints I’ve seen. The Edinburgh-based artist has a keen eye when it comes to color choices that he uses in his limited edition prints and greeting cards. The repetitive patterns and hues that he implements make my modern art-loving heart really happy.

Called Nonspace, from Emily Grundon, the project aims to highlight the architectural geometry of space through a study of light and shadow. Looking to the corners, Emily puts the focus on the lines and angles of the art gallery itself – as opposed to that displayed within it.

It’s hard to believe that each one of these used car tires is hand-carved by Belgium artist Wim Delvoye. The collection of tires features intricate pattern work with various motifs, like floral and Art Deco. He does an incredible job working with the original shape of each tire when designing each pattern. I can’t imagine how much time and patience each one took.

This “Furniture Tasting” project by Japanese/Portuguese duo Ryosuke Fukusada and Rui Pereira was inspired by the idea that the contemporary furniture industry is feeding us so much that it’s nearly impossible to “digest” it all. I love furniture and decor, and often times I say it’s good enough to eat… and now, I can have my chair and eat it too!

Omar Perez, a furniture makers, lends his hand to making sculptural stilettos that will knock your socks off. Mostly used as art objects or in photo shoots, these heels are over the top and barely wearable and yet there’s something that draws me to them.

Spanish street artist Nuria Mora is based in Madrid and is well known for her large-scale abstract murals. They’re colorful and geometric and pop up on walls around the world, adding art to sides of buildings and walls that often appear rundown.

Dutch interior designer Tieme Rietveld and image makers Codex Inferno have collaborated on Perceptor, a handmade and hand-sprayed cabinet. It looks like a car that’s been in a head-on collision… the surrealist graphics make it hard to decipher what’s going on. And I like it.

The layered strips of paper create repeated patterns of texture that feel organic but I’m sure they were meticulously placed.
