This has become a tradition in our house along w/ Toys For Tots. (Write a letter to Santa, take it to Macy's & "mail" it. Macy's will donate a dollar to Make-A-Wish for every letter they receive. Go to social.macys.com/... to get the stationary.)

Going to do this before our new walls go up! ... Hide a time capsule in the wall in a Ziploc bag. Fill with pics of new construction and neighborhood as it looks today, the day's newspaper, some photos of us, etc. I wonder when and whom will find it?

Every year I make a book out of all the Christmas cards / photo cards we receive. I title each book with the year and pack them with our holiday decorations. We love seeing how families grow and change each year.

25 days of Christmas - hang an ornament advent calendar alternative
Once Upon A Family Keepsake Box (bought this before I even became a mom) Each year on your child's birthday, write a letter expressing how much they mean to you. Be sure to highlight some of the funny and sweet things they did that year. Include a photo with your letter and store them in this beautiful box. Begin to mail each letter 21 days before their 21st birthday, sending the last letter and the box to arrive on their big day!
