This coverlet made up of 1,700 dime-size fabric yo-yos was brought to the Quilt Discovery Day at the Public Museum of Grand Rapids last weekend. The quilt was hand stitched by Cora Weirick, who began the project in 1920 and finished it in 1947. In all, 122 quilts were photographed and documented for the Michigan Quilt Project Collection maintained by Michigan State University. (Jennifer Ackerman-Haywood | MLive.com)
