Potential new test for active lyme disease - lets hope this one lives up to the hype (unfortunately testing is largely inadequate at the moment, despite the fanfare of "new tests" coming on the market in recent years - this one seems different, I guess only time will tell)

Lyme Disease BacteriaCredit: CDC/ Claudia Molins photo: Janice Haney CarrA cluster of Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria, which causes Lyme disease. Humans catch it when bitten by ticks. These bacteria belong to a group called spirochetes, which resemble coiled springs.
“At first it seems counter intuitive that an infectious organism would choose to migrate to the lymph nodes where it would automatically trigger an immune response in the host... B. burgdorferi (the bacteria that causes Lyme disease) have apparently struck an intricate balance that allows the bacteria to both provoke and elude the animal’s immune response.” GENIUS BACTERIA.
