Remember the trademark orange roofs, inexpensive meals, endless pots of coffee and 28 flavors of ice cream at Howard Johnson's? They used to be everywhere...

Barbie Johnson Awesome ride .

On Baxter Avenue with my grandmother for Superbrand cottage cheese among other things.

Did I see this at Taylor's Rexall or in my grandmother's medicine cabinet?

I remember seeing Grandma Burns' LeSabre, like this one, parked outside her home in Eau Gallie back in 1967.

Jewel Autumn Leaf, like what was in grandmas's cupboard.

Although this was snapped many years before my first trip to the drive-in, it brings back fond memories nights with my mother, sisters and brother at the New Albany, Clarksville, Kenwood, Preston, Twilite or even Georgetown.

David George reminds me of how the Perkins store looked before the new signage

The Sears in St. Matthews looked like this, but without the palm trees.

The Mid-City Mall Zayre sign looked just like this.

Often purchased at Convenient on Bardstown Road, just east of Mid-City Mall.

Reminds me of watching my grandmother feed her canaries. She also had 45RPM records from Hartz Mountain to play for them in hopes that they'd learn to sing.
