Witty, paranormal mystery with some delicious spiciness thrown in.
It's so much more than a YA book. Be prepared to want to read the second & third installments immediately after. BUT don't go see the movie until you've read the book.
It's slow. I'm not going to lie. But its worth it, if only to be able to read The Magician Kings after it
Such a sweet little story. Everyone's a character, even The Tree! A true love tale, and not just of the romantic persuasion.
Not a quick read. But it is one that, ultimately, will stay with you. The cast is small, but complex, and very very vivid.

Excellent story. Haven't seen the movie, as I don't want Patterson to ruin the book for me. But it is a gripping tale.
