Rococo Vintage I'm not surprised that Italy is ahead of us in that regard! I would really love to start seeing models that just aren't outrageously skinny... somewhere between what we see now and plus size. In the 90s sample sizes were an 8 (of course, the women were still 5'11")!! Now they're a 2!
Bethany Bernhard I think it's fantastic and have noticed the same about Italian Vogue. However, I've also noticed that when they do use "plus size" models they are always in their underwear!
John Galliano for Dior, 1997. Kitu S-line gown in black silk taffeta with fishtail train. Inspired by the corsets worn by warriors of the Dinka tribe in East Africa and the hourglass silhouette of Belle Epoque, this dress features a Masai-style beaded corset and choker, as well as painted tropical flowers in organza.

Designer Lucien LeLong. "Lelong is credited with saving over 12,000 workers from deportation into German war industries. Over the period of four years, 14 official conferences had been held with the Germans, at four of them the Germans had announced that la couture was to be entirely suppressed, and each time the French avoided catastrophe."
