Pinterest is an online pinboard.
Organize and share things you love.
A hodge-podge of nifty stuff I see but don't feel like categorizing.
Ambiguous "true-false" answer: "I hope this was a clever student's attempt to answer a question that he or she didn't know the answer to."

Very cool, Pinterest! "When you pin something from Lyst or one of their many participating retailers, you'll automatically be notified when that item goes on sale."

Transferring pictures is exceptionally easy and is done using a new Bump web interface along with the bump app on your mobile phone. To transfer pictures, you select the photos you’d like to move from within the app and tap your phone on your computer’s spacebar while you have the Bump web interface loaded.

Online supermarket Peapod is bringing its foodstuffs to Chicago's "L" transit system, with a new ad campaign that allows commuters to do their grocery shopping from directly within the city's train stations.... People travelling through the station can scan an accompanying QR code to download the free PeapodMobile app, which will allow them to scan barcodes listed on the products displayed in the ad.

Josh Copeland I wish it were 'nifty' but Peapod placed these virtual shelves down one of the busiest hallways in one of the busiest L stations in Chicago. It's probably fine any other time but rush-hour... which I gather is actually the people they wanted to target. Still - they got the buzz.
Geoff Dudgeon That does sound annoying. Still, I'd never fault an advertiser because their content was *too* interesting/compelling.
iBGStar turns your iPhone into an FDA-approved glucose meter for $99.95: "The IBGStar uses disposable test strips to take blood samples, similar to many other glucose meters. After a few readings have been recorded, the Manager app analyzes the data and gives a readout of statistics, graphs, and trends so that users can make educated decisions about their treatments."

Jordan Running Reminiscent of SwiftKey, but the "flick" mechanic is compelling. But on my iPhone I "touch-type," if you will, only glancing at the keyboard occasionally—the better to catch awry autocorrects and take advantage of word completions—so I'm wondering how much this would benefit me.

Why I love the internet: a character in a webcomic (The Oatmeal) is wearing a witty shirt. Readers love it and want their own. The cartoonist delivers, almost immediately. ("Update: A ton of people were asking so I went ahead and put together Tesla > Edison shirts. They just went to the printer so they're pre-order only right now, but they should ship out in 10-14 days.")

WSJ's interesting approach to Pinterest engagement. [Quote: - Eric Fehrnstrom, adviser to Mitt Romney. The official design for the disc-art on the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo DVD makes the disc appear to be a pirated copy, designed to mimic a blank, home-burned disc with the movie's title handwritten in black marker on it.

Kimberly Pillon Yup that is exactly how it looks. Just got my copy today.
Tracy Wong Brilliant!
Valerie Marie No wonder! We rented it the other day & freaked out with that haha
Paddy Downey I was really disappointed with the American version of this movie. The original version the female character is not victimized in the end.
Jen Berger We rented it from Redbox and I really had to look at it to make sure it wasn't a copy!

Heather Edwards Amazing. Did you buy the flavorings? Care to share any recipes?
Geoff Dudgeon I'll try to get my neighbor (the genius behind this setup) to share the recipes (they were all home-made).
Heather Edwards Thanks! I love the idea and think it would be perfect for a little party I am throwing next weekend. :)

The Morgan Plus E, shown at the Geneva Motor Show, is an electrified Morgan Plus 8 with a 70-kilowatt (94 horsepower) Zytek motor in place of the BMW V8. The little motor that could puts down 221 pound-feet, an impressive figure for something so small. Morgan didn’t offer any specs on the lithium-ion battery pack, but said the rear-wheel-drive car has a range of 120 miles.
