How to keep apple and pear slices from browning? Soak them in a bowl of cold salt water for 3-5 minutes. Not too much salt, or it effects the taste of the fruit. Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon of salt per 1 quart (4 cups) of water. Best part is that you always have salt on hand.

Mix cookie dough, freeze in ice cube tray, pop out and keep in freezer bag. Then when you want fresh baked cookies, you can bake a few at a time.

Judy LeBar-Malcolm We have done this and it helps keep the "WAIT" time "in order". We also have tried to build words out of the sugar/equal, etc packets. (any little thing helps to keep them occupied)
