Oil pastel string of lights. Students use a template and we talk about random pattern. We work with odd numbers. Students must have 11 bulbs and then use a cord to connect and fill the negative space. Must include 5 loops. We then use oil pastels to color the shapes and fill the negative space. Finally we add glows or highlights.

Students painted an 18 X 24 sheet of paper with several acrylic colors. They used a paintbrush or their hands to swirl the colors together. After cutting the papers into strips, they wove them together to make interesting patterns.
