Katie Clemons probably not. haha! we didn't quite find a spot where we wanted to do this... but I sure thought about it!

Anissa Reagor I LOVE this idea!
Katie Clemons me too :)
Bathroom design. Could use some reclaimed wood on the walls. I like the rustic look of this.

This is awesome! So many different applications for this! They used a Dollar Store mat as the "stencil".
Great recycling spot. What do you think Katie? This may not be in your living space, but elsewhere in the hangar??

Katie Clemons we've got these huge plastic bins for recycling in the hangar. They work, but it's not exactly attractive. So I'm taking note here – thanks!
Great kitchen cabinet! Look how much is stored in there!!!

A surplus purchase from the builders of the Denver International Airport combined with some yacht building techniques created this inexpensive vanity and sink. Very cool and so beautiful!

Kathy Warren I knew you would find this interesting and fun.
I love the idea of making a small bathroom feel less cramped by using the glass (although not so fun to clean if you have hard water).

Katie Clemons I was eyeing this pin when you flagged it earlier. really liking it!
loving the simpler kitchen and window nook. (that countertop color?! crazy!)

Amy E i love the window nook as well! or something along the lines of a built-in booth (like what you'd find at a cozy restaurant); there'd be TONS of storage options under booth bench seats!
Katie Clemons I know! Still trying to sell Martin on the idea. He keeps saying, "Our house isn't a diner." haha
ordered a sample of this wallpaper (!!)

Juliette this is adorable. I was just thinking about seeing if you were into wallpaper, even on a board so you can move it around. I think wallpaper is such a fun idea!! (and affordable in small spaces!)
you should have a slide!! :)

Katie Clemons haha! Martin was talking about a pole like at a fire station. But seriously?! A SLIDE!!
Cute little dresser re-purposed as kitchen island -- nice and bright too!

Keeping track of paint colors in your house! Use stir sticks to recall your paint colors. Write paint name and number on end of stick, along with what you painted. Bundle with sticks with twine.

You know you married a logical German engineer when his 2 requests are: no open shelving, no white cabinets.

Jane @ The Borrowed Abode Oh my gosh, what a great idea!
Juliette but would they dry well? or cause mildew? (this from a person in rainy Germany, ha!)
Katie Clemons good point, Juliette. The air is crazy dry here, but tucking away wet things is always a great opportunity for mold no matter where you are. DRATS for this idea. :(
Amy E my parents have something similar and have no issues, they usually just leave the door open or leave it extended. Since they're only done with the towels when they're ready to leave the kitchen, then it doesn't get in their way to leave it extended. i don't remember them ever having issues.
Katie Clemons Oh that's interesting, Amy. It really just boils down to our own personal habits and environment, then.
Measuring cups and spoons inside your cabinet door would help cut down on the clutter -- this is on my honey-do list

bottle cap backsplash -- i dont' know about Martin, but my german husband is enough of a beer drinker to actually make a backsplash like this possible (given time and planning)
