I'm moving to my first REAL apartment. It's in LA (i moved to LA) at Pico and Robertson. Im going to need to buy a bed and a couch, so using this board to figure out my "style book". I started with some drapes that Tram posted. Thanks, Tram! Thanks for the idea to do a "stylebook", my-personal-int-decorator-Margaret!
@Christina Torres i dont even know what a ghost chair is but I love that big oversized mirror /lean ! They have something similar I need to get at Ikea.

I keep coming to this stark light and dark color scheme, but black is too dramatic. I like the contrast of dark chocolate and creamy off whites. Brown couch, Margaret!!!

This is what that hose with the bouganvilla on the outside looks like inside.... it belongs to a modernist collector. The whole article is here: www.nytimes.com/s... but NYT wont let you pin their Slideshows. boo @NYT! bad call!

Margaret C. Well, in an apartment your size, you wouldn't want to paint the walls dark anyway because it would make the apartment seem way too small. It has to be a larger room to get away with dark colors.
old hollywood glam -- yes! I think i'm all about one of this big gaudy, plater frames for a mirror. could be really fun

i have a bedroom set a vanity just like this in San Francisco at my parents' house.... maybe it WOULD be worth it to bring it down here.... nah!

Margaret C. Well, if you really like it, I would bring it!
Elizabeth F. nah, i dont like it that much. too much from childhood, but a good piece to keep for the future, yknow? Also, it's an outdated color, like this pale green. We're going stark contrasts!
Margaret C. FYI, for the future, it can always be repainted...
Elizabeth F. :P !!!!!! do this in gchat ~@~
i love this, but doesnt need to be black in white. That's ok for up in hollywood, but im almost south Robertson (SoRo!)

Margaret C. There are tons of light stores on La Brea where you should be able to browse a wide variety of options.
Elizabeth F. oh yay! La Brea is our spot! Know good lunch places there too?
the wall design is cool, but not for this place. Im thinking these low bookshelves though would be good as a basis and then mount a TV on top
Fetching pins…
Asia al-Massari The ghost chairs are those two lucite arm chairs in the middle of the room :)
