A strike over a ban on hand holding in Feb 2011. The school head called it "silly." Mr O'Hara called the strike at the for 840-pupil school "silly". He said: "We prefer that the children are not too demonstrative towards each other. If we see students being overly-familiar we deal with it in an appropriate and tactful way." He added: "Some students seem to have got the idea there is a new rule where they cannot have any contact with each other. It may have come from something a member of staff said, but it has been taken way out of proportion."

Julie Neil there's a grade school in my city that banned kids from hugging one another. the principal said it's because "you never know what it leads to" and that it ties up traffic in the halls when kids stop to hug. how sad. these are little kids!
