Elie Saab was born on July 4, 1964 in Lebanon. As a child and a teenager later on, Elie Saab had a curiosity for the World of Art. His interest elaborated, led him into the world of fashion. He begins designing evening gowns and wedding dresses and opened his first atelier in Beirut, in 1982, under his own name.
During the same year, Elie Saab presents his first collection at the Casino Du Liban. The event found a huge success and had massive media coverage. The Lebanese press referred to him as the “precocious genius”. Deeply attached to his native culture but constantly interested in the European fashion, his style was a mixture between the Oriental and the Western culture.
