Recipes, Links, Vegetarian Lifestyle... The greatest wealth is health. ~Virgil Until he extends the circle of his compassion to all living things, man himself will not find peace. Albert Schweitzer "The animals are more ancient than us. They were here for millennia before humans surfaced on the earth. Animals are our ancient brothers and sisters. They enjoy a seamless presence – a lyrical unity with the earth. Animals live outside in the wind, in the waters, in the mountains, and in the clay. The knowing of the earth is in them. The Zen-like silence and thereness of the landscape is mirrored in the silence and solitude of animals. Animals know nothing of Freud, Jesus, Buddha, Wall Street, the Pentagon, or the Vatican. They live outside the politics of human intention. Somehow they already inhabit the eternal." This animal quote was written by John O'Donohue, in Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom

these are for real, I looked it up...pineberry: pineapple+strawberry hybrid - I want to try one IMMEDIATELY

Jamie Johnson These didn't look gross to me. In the smaller homepage pic, I thought they were regular strawberries that someone had managed to lattice white chocolate on. Now THAT is a tutorial I'd like to find on Pinterest. ;)
Traci Jamie, that's what it looks like to me too. I said to myself, "no way!" as I'm clicking to get a better view :)
hummingbird.pie They're not actually a hybrid between a pineapple and a strawberry, nor are they genetically engineered (they're just a hybrid between two strawberry species). They do look funny though...
Andrea Weymouth @hummingbird.pie you're completely right, it's not even possible to cross 2 completely unrelated species (unless it's in a lab on a DNA scale) and the source says they were discovered wild in South America, I'd like to try them, sounds delish!
Berni Forno they are a tipe of strawberry that grows in the south of southamerica (chile)

Dipping Blue Berries in Yogurt, freezing them over night for a healthy snack the next day. You could do this virtually with any type of fruit!

Ranch powder mixed with Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Tastes exactly like ranch without any of that fat and large amounts of calories and Greek yogurt is so good for you. Perfect for getting people to eat vegetables without compromising the healthiness. So excited.

Terry Joyner I started doing this when I lived in Greece in the late 1980s. I would make some up and take it, some celery and carrots to work to snack on.
Jessica Read Tried it...thought it was gross
Shelli Booth I have always done it this way! I love using Chobani because it has the higest protein of all greek yogurts! :)

Chrissy Wojdyla I've been doing this since I was a kid! Love it.
Cathy Scarborough it's cute,. but then the dye gets in the egg and you eat it
Caitlin Kane Food Coloring is completely safe....the dye used for easter eggs is simply food coloring...When you eat a cupcake with gree frosting, you're eating the dye as well...lol not really a big deal!
Addy Smith Sounds like Mr. Monk
Tammy Cline these are really cool. You could use natural vegetable dyes if you were that concerned over the food dye...beets for red, etc. But I really like these!

Fetching pins…
Lex Thompson You might try subbing Coconut Nectar.
Amy Daughdrill I've made this recipe a lot, I use 2T honey & 1T maple syrup
Erin Minnett Cid Thank you, @Lex Thompson and @Amy Daughdrill! I will try both of those! (That is if I can find coconut nectar...! Sounds good!)
Erin Minnett Cid Oh, and @Jessica Johnson too. Didn't see your comment! :)
Jennifer Bond Honey (non-vegan), maple syrup, or brown rice syrup might all be possibilities depending on what kind of flavor you like. There are other liquid sweeteners as well--try visiting a local health foods store and they might have more options.
