I like the truck treatment for the Red Cross brand update. I wonder how realistic it is to expect an actual truck to look this nice.
If I didn’t already own Livory, I would be very tempted by Cassia.
I love the photography and typography of Kiyoaki Sasahara, who I gather is the designer of several Spangle call Lilli line albums.
Valkyria Chronicles 3. I looooooove the pattern dithering on PSX games and, apparently, PSP games.
I really, really like this visual approach to guitar learning at skyturtle.com.

A PADD from Star Trek: TNG. I love Okudagrams; so iconic of the way we used to imagine our future. So artistic while still functional-looking. A lovely example of design to solve problems for creative projects.

Moment in the Sun by John Sayles. I know next to nothing about it yet, but the cover is shockingly great. If I ever wrote a book, a cover like this would be required.

I, for one, approve of tech news web site logos that are indistinguishable from ’70s prog-rock band logos.

The original Song of Ice and Fire covers for the UK, by Jim Burns, were *marvelous*. The switch to boringness is even more disappointing than on the US versions.
Oh, Stephen Youll, the original cover artist for the Ice and Fire books, actually did a painting for the fourth book! But they switched to the super-boring design instead, ruining the consistency of my collection. Here is the original, unused, cool version!
Mikio Inose does the hyperreal icon design thing better than anyone I know of.
Amber Lamps homebrewed beer label by @Julian Lancaster. I love this to deaths.
Amazon does a good job of selling the advantages of e-ink. I love the alienness of the zoomed-up LCD and the consternation on the face of the iPad dude.
I love Mojang’s ability to be contemporary-cool and retro-cool simultaneously. (Presumably the work of Markus Toivonen.)
Sakura Taisen T-shirt, celebrating the series’ arrival on PlayStation 2. One of my most prized possessions.
Crabtree & Evelyn has lovely packaging design for men’s grooming products.
Mimi wo Sumaseba, my favorite Ghibli film. Reminded to pin this by @Julian Lancaster.

B.B. Crayons. I invite you to compare this to the typical Crayola package today and ponder what happened to design for kids.
They don’t often design books like this anymore! Probably because it’s outrageously expensive compared to clip art, and lots of people don’t buy physical books anyway, and there are better ways to find good writing than by looking for the coolest covers. It makes sense, but it’s a little sad.
Gurrrhhhh, I love this cover. Persona 2: Batsu / Eternal Punishment.

My own amateur localization of the Zettai Zetsumei Toshi / Disaster Report logotype.
Zettai Zetsumei Toshi, a classic of Japanese-style video game cover design.
Etrian Odyssey. In my estimation, the best video game identity localization.
Early prototype for Sekaiju no Meikyuu logotype. Click through to the blog to see more!
Original Sekaiju no Meikyuu logotype, one of my favorite designs in video games.
It is kinda painful to search for the NERV logo around the web. Nearly all instances are copies of the same poor implementation with the wrong fig leaf, the wrong typeface, the wrong letter positioning, an unadjusted V, and the wrong face, punctuation, positioning, and distortion on the motto. It’s a shame, because I think this is one of the greatest logo designs. Tiny details like this make Evangelion still my favorite anime after all these years.

Sensibility by ShinnType. Might be a nice sans-serif choice for pairing with my beloved Livory.
Brandon Grotesque by HVD Fonts. Would love to get this someday to complement my Livory.
Leksa by Alexandra Korolkova. My first typographical crush, but too spendy for me to buy myself.

Dungeons & Dragons Essentials. I love everything about these books!

Can’t go wrong with Tufte Beige. Unfortunately, most copies are marred by a blue NYT Book Review emblem.
Your Inner Fish by Neil Shubin. I love everything about this design, but especially the combo of Fairplex and Gill Sans.

Daniel Abraham: An Autumn War. Book three of the Long Price quartet. Unfortunately, the fourth book never reached paperback, so it never got a matching treatment.
Daniel Abraham: A Betrayal in Winter. Book two of the Long Price quartet.
Daniel Abraham’s Long Price quartet. My favorite book cover designs of all time. These mass-market paperbacks are even better than the hardcovers.
Fetching pins…
William Van Hecke Oh bleh, and Pinterest converts this fine specimen of it into a horrible JPEG. I can't win!
Ho-Ching Fong Love it! Just saw Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance on Monday. Ah...good stuff.
