For sixty bucks per night, live like a princess in a 1400 sq foot suite with canopied beds, chandelier, and your own personal dining area at Hotel La Bocona - Granada, Nicaragua. You'll have plenty of money left over to hire a hunky masseuse and a sexy pool boy. #JetsetterCurator

True story : a housekeeper once walked in on me & my hubby in a, um, romantic position at the Lao Llao Hotel & Resort in Bariloche, Argentina. Now you too can enjoy Gilty schnogging in this South American paradise. According to moi, Lao Llao is the most romantic hotel anywhere. & good meat is just down the road. Seriously. #JetsetterCurator. (Full confession of aforementioned event appears in the Travelers Tales anthology By the Seat of My Pants)

Jane Austen's notebook, "Volume the First," containing Austen's early short works. "Austen wrote in a ready-made bound blank-book and completed the transcript when she was seventeen. The manuscript was bought for the Bodleian Library through the Friends of the Bodleian in 1933 and was first published in an edition by R. W. Chapman (Oxford, 1933)." In Beijing in 1998, the Forbidden City was the quietest place I could find, an oasis in a crowded, loud, smoggy city. I used to go there with my notebook, find a hidden nook, and write. I can't imagine there are any hidden nooks left these days. Image via Encyclopedia Britannica

I remember carrying potted plants through the streets of Buenos Aires in 2002 (long story) in search of a nursery that could revive their tired leaves. Buenos Aires--cosmopolitan, fun, beautiful, busy--is one of my favorite cities in the world. Live like a Parisian! We stayed in an apartment in the Marais 2 years ago. More fun than a hotel, apartment-living allows you to see how the locals live. Dash across the street for a baguette, some cheese, and a bottle of wine--or wander down the alleyway for some stunning falafel--and bring dinner home. Have kids? There's a carousel around every corner. 012 Marais - Paris, France #JetsetterCurator

diy aqua mason jars...Found this @tea_austen and repinned because: I have two mason jars that I brought home from my grandmother's house right after she passed away. One is in the office, where it holds pens, and the other, which holds "vacation money," is on a shelf in the dining room, beside her old metal strainer. The jars are useful and happy-making. Every time I reach for a pen or stash a twenty in the vacation jar, I'm subtly reminded of her.
