Get Rid of Ants with cornmeal. Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it 'home,' can't digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains, but it works and you don't have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!

Very cool idea. Love this! Hanging Gutter Garden ( might be fun to do this on the front porch by the front door. Maybe they'd survive the heat?)

Tee pee fort planted over bean plants, so they can wind their way up around poles and create a little "secret garden". So magical! I love it.

Fetching pins…
Alice Cantrell I wonder if this would work for our horrid fire ants...
Michele Augur I was wondering the same thing. We tend to have some that show up on our front porch in the summer.
Marillyn Beard I tried this with the ants in Costa Rica... totally failed. But I am willing to try again now that we are in a different country... what if you add in some sort of fat or sweetener to get them to really take it??
Katie Anaya i have to say, i tried it and it didn't work so well. the ants wouldn't touch the cornmeal. i did have some success (not complete though) with a mixture of peanut butter, borax and cornmeal. have to keep an eye on the kiddos with that mixture though...
