chris go Are you going to Portland? We honeymooned there. Great city. Lots of good food.
Shimelle Laine @godotchris yes - i'm going there next month for a week, then kc for a week. :) blog conference thingamy. :)
chris go We stayed at the Portland Ace and found all kinds of amazing food within walking distance. We were also a stones throw from Powells. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent and all about sustainable, local, organic. They deli on the corner that was equally good. Oh and a photo booth. There was an old seafood place up the block that had been there forever. Of course Voodoo donuts and the coffee place (one branch was in the hotel, another about a block from voodoo). Darn I am so bad with names. We found a cool cupcake place too. And the rose garden is a must, especially in June. I accidentally flashed from tourists when a bee flew into my shirt.
Shimelle Laine @godotchris - the conference is at the ace, so i'll be there at least three days. i won some hotwire credit so i may use that for a mystery hotel ;-) the other days or i may stay at an urban farm, possibly. coffee place is stumptown, i assume? (there is a stumptown at the nyc ace and stumptown is a portland roastery so that makes sense.) yay to powells and the rose garden - note to self to wear flash-friendly undergarments. ;-)
chris go Yes, Stumptown! Also movie theater across the street is very cool. Real food and drink. Oh and a music store around the corner from Powells. Also we didn't think to look, but Moonstruck Chocolate is in Portland. They got rid of their stores outside Oregon. Love the brown cow drink.
