Polaroids of Afghanis Who've Never Seen a Photograph The Wakhan corridor located in the northeastern corner of Afghanistan, is a less-traveled region by foreigners. French photographers Fabrice Nadjari and Cedric Houin (aka Varial) decided to journey off to the remote district because of their growing fascination with the country, further heightened by a New York Times article about the area.
Time Lapse Portraits by Nerhol The numerous portraits are actually different, photographed over a period of three minutes as the subject tried to sit motionless, the idea being that it’s impossible to ever truly be still as our center of gravity shifts and our muscles are tense. The portraits are actually a layered lime-lapse representing several minutes in the subjects life and then cut like an onion to show slices of time, similar to the trunk of a tree.

Artist: Cindy Patrick (1) iPhone 4 for original shot using Hipstamatic (John S lens/BlacKeys B+W film) (2) PS Express to crop the square into a vertical. (I wanted to accentuate the height of the tree in relation to the figures.) (3) Blurfx to blur everything but the figures and a few branches of the tree. (4) ScratchCam until I landed on an effect I liked. It was snowing, but this filter really enhanced the look of the snow, which I wanted.
