When Lisa Bobrow was pregnant with her first child in 2001, she scoured the Internet for tips and advice on everything from birth plans to breastfeeding. That's when she stumbled upon a website explaining an ancient method of elimination communication, used now by much of the developing world to raise their infants without using diapers. This is/was very common as a way to save on washing diapers, or because they are too expensive or not available. My grandmother had her kids trained by 10 months - as was common. Kids cannot even feel if they are wet in disposables - how are they to learn? Environmentally, disposables are a true disaster, maybe we need to see how our foremothers managed...
