These lamps made from carved, drilled, and etched gourds cast amazing, intricate patterns around the room.

Cabinet with dishwasher-style tiered pullouts. Great idea for storage, especially if some of us are a bit short for pot racks that won't smack our taller spouse in the face.

Cascading lobelia out of an overturned pot. Perfect for that ruined grotto/Secret Garden look.

Nice aesthetic and probably more satisfying than the over-the-door shelves you can get. (Oops, I just realized these aren't on the door. Still, there's an idea! If anyone finds a retailer for these buckets with mounting advice, please comment.)

The cure for the common, plain, bathroom mirror. We have one of these right now that makes me twitch a little. I love that no cutting or removal of the mirror is involved, and the extra shelves! Never having enough shelving is always a constant issue in this soap and bathsalt-lovin' household. Link to actual instructions: www.hometalk.com/...

Ickle sand pipers, being twee.

Pretty-pretty measuring spoons. Never mind that we already have three sets (and of course Mike and I disagree on which ones to put aside) and can't justify another.... unless collecting measuring spoons is my new thing?

Milk jar measuring cups. I don't like the interior colours, though. I'll just never get the hang of yellow or orange.

Chef it up: part digital scale, part measuring cup.

Beautiful idea for displaying ornaments. The original photo comes from The White Company's website, but they sell only the ornaments, not the frame/trim.

Fascinating idea: distressed French door inlaid with mirrors instead of glass, used as wall art instead of as an actual door. Delightful effect or too disconcerting?

Chicken coop = silly critters, fresh eggs, and the possibilities of honeysuckle and wisteria.

Love the wood positions and the curved flowerbed. I would extend the last level to accommodate lounge chairs.

Someday we will grow our own loofahs. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!

I've been excited about vertical gardening ever since I was lucky enough to do a private backstage tour of The Land at Epcot. Mike is as passionate as I am about someday growing our own veggies and spices to make our Mexican and Indian dishes.

Someday, pretty cakes will be the norm for my countertops. And on that day, I will have a tall, tall cake dome - not too beehive-y, and simple in design. (So as not to compete with the pretty cakes.) There may or may not be a stand. It may or may not be this stand. Or maybe there will be many stands. Maybe there will be many pretty cakes!

Door knob tie-back for curtains.

This is the spirit of the perfect tub. I'd like it to be big enough for two (Roman/garden style), but the alcove, the big dose of natural light, and the sea-shaded tiles are all perfect.

All of my decorating ideas seem to be based around where to put the books.

Brilliant. Much better than our current method of lining shoes up on the staircase... which is so often expressed as a jumble at the foot of the stairs.

Oh yes... and when it would rain... oh yes.

I love arched entryways, especially wall-width ones. They add a finishing "eye-rest" for the nice spaciousness of open-plan areas.

Planning is a thing of beauty.

But where to find light bulbs like this in 2011?

Even though Mike refuses to become a folk music duo (did we watch A Mighty Wind too many times?), the idea of someday learning the harp really speaks to me... but not in the creepy "harp strings made from dead sister's hair sing out her murderer's name" kind of way. (Pentangle doesn't make albums the way they used to, eh?)

Vertical silverware storage in a drawer. I don't know why this makes me so happy.

I just bought chalkboard paper to cover the ugly, dented metal bookshelves in my classroom. I never even thought of how it could be used in a stylish way at home. Fun!

This just erased all of my sad, scuffed memories of 1970s-1980s linoleum. I'm not sure if it's really me (fun prints? what?), but maybe I could use a staircase that could guarantee a smile.

Arrange by subject, by author, or by colour?

In my dream home, cupcakes will survive their current buzzlift, and liners will be ready when they do.

If I had a sink like this, I would never neglect moisturizing. It would be like a Buddhist monk neglecting his gong.

For reenacting fairy tales in the someday-garden, but this is so fey we might have to spell that "faerie tayles."

Where I would grow Indian spices. Is there any Indian/French fusion? Saffron-cumin crepes with paneer?

I'm not sure if I can fit my netbook in there, though.

Every time I opened a drawer, I'd feel like a naiad luring a wave.

When I was little, I wanted a fairy tale canopy bed. Living a charmed consumer life, I got one... a tight Sears floral print overhead. The curtains gathered at the four posters were strictly ornamental. Holly Hobbie would've been, and was, at home. This is what I had in mind.

We currently have two throw pillows, one being a $6 piece from Pier One that rips apart every year or so (and I resew it). I wonder how often you have to mend a $128 pillow.

I have no use for cream, but I'm sure I have a use for this cow. Curry boat? Cow... India... could be apt.

We have this already, but I never see it. In my dream home, though, I make the bed every day.
