Mellissa I did the back of a bookshelf with wallpaper and mod podge. It worked well enough. The wallpaper was pretty thick, but not terribly rigid. You could also try spray adhesive.
Marg Khabbaz Have covered doors using clear wallpaper paste as both glue & topcoat. Very sturdy
