When you link to stuff you found on Pinterest, link to the original source, NOT the pin

King Pin most original pinners are not those who "came up with the idea." they simply found it, just as re-pinners found it. the originators are those who produced the content. that is why i always try to add a link in my pins to the originator and avoid re-pinning those who don't have proper sources. =)

Profile picture of Vone

Vone I don't totally agree with this. I think it's important to let people about Pinterest and where I found the idea. I want other people to know how cool Pinterest is and what's available on it. But I do agree that the original source should also get credit. Going forward when I blog I will quote both the Pin and the original site, give them both credit. Google became a household name because people said, "I found it on Google". Let's give Pinterest the credit it deserves too.

Tarika Francis Well, I definately agree with this, but I thought that was the whole idea/concept behind pinning. When you add a pin you are bookmarking a link along with the image that interests you. Unless of course tyou are just uploading pics straight from your harddrive with no info behind them.....

Heather Mann As long as your pin points to the original source, it's fine to repin. I personally think it is unnecessary to credit pinterest as the source where you found something in your blog post, unless you want to say something like "This pinner always has fabulous pins" or "Follow this board for fun food ideas, etc." Pinterest is essentially a search engine.

Profile picture of Vickie Snow

Vickie Snow I have found that sometimes the original source of a "great pin" sends you to a website with low morals. I think it's important to find the original source before sending it on to my followers. I will be more conscientious from now on.

Jeanette Parks One thing I've noticed is a lot of times people will link to the main page of a blog but the content will have moved off to another page by the time you see the "pin" which makes it hard to find. I'm trying to make this a habit to avoid.

Heather Mann Yeah, it is so annoying when that happens!
